The UA Department of Biomedical Engineering is a research and entrepreneurial powerhouse in one of the nation’s biomedical hot spots. Established in 2009, the newest department in the College of Engineering builds on decades of faculty experience in research and graduate education.
Strongly integrated with the top-tier UA medical school and hospital, BME is integral to Arizona’s thriving bioscience and health care industries. Cross-disciplinary research ranges from neural prostheses and cardiovascular devices to cancer detection and treatment.
The University of Arizona – a Tier One research institution with a highly successful commercial arm, Tech Launch Arizona – offers biomedical engineering degrees at bachelor’s, master’s and PhD levels.
