BME students help organize largest student-run engineering career fair

ESC members like biomedical engineering major Kusuma Teluguntla, second from right, plan and organize iExpo, among other events, and represent Engineering students and clubs to the college and its partners.
On Feb. 6, 2025, the University of Arizona’s Engineering Student Council (ESC) hosted its annual student-run career fair, iExpo. The event, now in its 33rd year, attracted representatives from around 50 companies looking to hire engineering students for jobs and internships. ESC runs iExpo to help students transition from university to the working world by networking with industry representatives.
Ashton Lambert, BME major and iExpo director of corporate relations, led the planning of this year’s iExpo to help fellow students. She said planning the event was rewarding, adding that she’s gained considerable experience as an ESC member.
“Everyone seemed very passionate and excited to be in ESC, and I wanted to be a part of that kind of leadership within the College of Engineering,” Lambert said.
In addition to planning career events like iExpo, ESC provides community.
“All the ESC people I have met are super involved in the U of A community, and they care about each other. I’ve found friendships I never would have if I wasn’t in it,” said BME major Kusuma Teluguntla.
