Ali Bilgin (S’94–M’03–SM’08) received the B.S. degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 1992, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from San Diego State University, San Diego, CA, USA, in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, USA, in 2002. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Department of Medical Imaging, University of Arizona. He has authored or coauthored more than 175 research papers in international journals and conferences. He holds ten granted and several pending patents. He was on the Organizing Committees of many conferences, an Associate Editor of the IEEE Signal Processing L etters from 2010 to 2012, and the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing from 2010 to 2014. He is currently an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Computational I maging. His research interests include signal and image processing, image and video coding, data compression, and magnetic resonance imaging. |
