Su Attends US-Africa Frontiers of Science Symposium

Associate professor of BME Judith Su attended the 2nd National Academies US-Africa Frontiers of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Symposium in Rabat, Morocco, from Jan. 16-18, 2024.
At the Symposium, Su presented on her FLOWER (Frequency Locked Optical Whispering Evanescent Resonator) and how it can be applied to disease and environmental concerns in Africa such as ebola, malaria, and drinking water quality.
Participation in the symposium is dictated by strict eligibility guidelines as well as a personal invitation to participate in the opportunity. The symposium is meant to build collaboration in the frontiers of research between a wide variety of fields ranging from human-technology interaction, sensing technologies, green technologies for climate adaptation, vaccine manufacturing, and One Health.
