Su Selected For SPIE's STEM 'Equity Cards'

SPIE, formerly known as the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers, is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the SPIE Women in Optics planner with a special deck of cards featuring 52 women scientists. Among these industry leaders: BME assistant professor Judith Su.
According to SPIE, the scientists range from young, emerging researchers to established industry voices, but all share the vision, urgency and excitement around being a female scientist in our rapidly changing world. Each card features an illustration of the woman, along with one of her quotes.
Su's card, the three of hearts, reads: "Take chances, make mistakes, get messy! I think that's great advice for young girls or women considering a career in STEM."
Su also appears in SPIE's 2020 Women In Optics planner.
"SPIE believes that bringing people together from different backgrounds and different experiences and perspectives will support innovation through a diversity of ideas and solve challenges faced by our world," said SPIE career and diversity specialist Meg All.
